AGREEMENT TO OUR LEGAL TERMS FOR LOCALBIRD ECOTURISMO CANARIAS
1. Definition of the Association
Localbird Ecoturismo Canarias (hereinafter “the Association”) is a non-profit organization registered in the Canary Islands.
Its purpose is to promote eco-friendly and cultural activities, social inclusion, and sustainable tourism initiatives in the Canary Islands.
All funds received are reinvested exclusively into the Association’s social and environmental objectives.
2. Membership and Participation
Participation in the routes and experiences organized by the Association is reserved for registered Members.
To take part in the activities, each participant must:
Be a Member of the Association, by paying a monthly membership fee and
Register for the specific route they wish to join, contributing an additional amount on the day of the activity (which covers transport and logistics costs).
Membership is valid for one calendar month.
Each membership entitles the Member to participate in one route per month.
If the Member wishes to attend additional routes within the same month, an extra contribution per additional route will apply.
All payments are considered member contributions or donations, not commercial transactions.
3. Rights of Members
As a Member, you are entitled to:
Participate in one Association route or activity per month under your active membership.
Register for additional routes upon payment of the corresponding contribution.
Receive all communications, information, and updates related to the Association’s activities.
Access internal member-only information (e.g. meeting points, safety guidelines, volunteer opportunities).
Be listed as an active Member in the Association’s internal register.
4. Obligations of Members
By joining, you agree to:
Follow all safety rules, instructions, and environmental guidelines during activities.
Respect schedules, meeting points, and other operational conditions set by the Association.
Understand that your membership is personal and non-transferable.
Acknowledge that participation in one activity per month is included; further activities require additional contributions.
Accept that participation implies voluntary and cooperative involvement within a non-profit structure.
5. Non-profit Nature and Use of Funds
All income obtained from memberships and activity contributions is used exclusively to cover operational costs, such as:
Transport and logistical services (e.g. private bus rental).
Insurance and administrative costs.
Equipment, materials, and environmental initiatives.
No profits or dividends are distributed to any individual.
All remaining funds are reinvested in future association activities or local sustainability projects.
6. Volunteers and Coordinators
Activities may be accompanied by volunteer coordinators or members acting as drivers or assistants.
Unless explicitly licensed, these individuals do not act as professional tourist guides but as accompanying members of the Association.
Their participation is voluntary and not remunerated.
7. Insurance and Responsibility
The Association maintains a civil liability insurance policy covering its organized activities.
Nevertheless, participation implies acceptance of inherent risks associated with outdoor and transport activities.
Members commit to act responsibly and follow all instructions for safety and environmental respect.
8. Data Protection and Image Use
In compliance with applicable Spanish and European data protection laws (GDPR), the Association may collect personal data (name, contact details, participation records) solely for membership management and activity coordination.
During events, photos or videos may be taken for internal or promotional use; members may opt out at any time.
9. Cancellations and Changes
The Association may cancel or postpone activities due to adverse weather, safety concerns, or logistical reasons.
If an event is cancelled, members will be offered an alternative date or their contribution will remain valid for a future route within the same month.
If the member cancels voluntarily, the membership fee remains non-refundable, as it supports the Association’s ongoing operations.
10. Amendments to Terms
The Association reserves the right to modify these terms to reflect changes in its activities, regulations, or internal policies.
Members will be informed in advance through the Association’s official channels.
11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law concerning non-profit associations and civil liability.
Any disputes shall be settled under the jurisdiction of the courts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.The Association may cancel or postpone activities due to adverse weather, safety concerns, or logistical reasons.
If an event is cancelled, members will be offered an alternative date or their contribution will remain valid for a future route within the same month.
If the member cancels voluntarily, the membership fee remains non-refundable, as it supports the Association’s ongoing operations.
