About the Experience of Local Trip Hiking and Reforestation in Gran Canaria

Hiking in northern Gran Canaria (Firgas), where you can plant your own sapling in an area undergoing natural regeneration: with a certified guide, safety equipment, a local guided interpretive trail, and a snack. Hike and help plant a forest.

Localbird is in collaboration with a nature restoration project. It’s not just about visiting and enjoying the island’s stunning landscape; through this restoration effort, we’re helping to renew forests, create new ones, improve soil quality, and ensure long-term sustainability.

We don’t just plant trees—we plant everything that contributes to the forest’s biodiversity: trees, shrubs, flowers, aromatic plants, and seeds, as well as mulch, compost, or additional soil depending on the type of vegetation in each area.
